Welcome to the Website of the Scandinavian Society for Surgery of the Hand. The SSSH, founded in 1951, is an association dedicated to foster and promote research and collaboration among the Scandinavian and Baltic societies for surgery of the hand. The society is open to surgeons from the Scandinavian and Baltic countries with a special interest in surgery of the hand..
  • The Scandinavian Society for Surgery of the Hand deplores and condemns the unprecedented aggression in Ukraine by the Russian leadership. Our thoughts are with the victims of this criminal act: first of all, the Ukrainian people. Many of us work with Ukrainian and Russian doctors in the Scandinavian healthcare systems. The Scandinavian spirit is all about egalitarianism, friendship and peace. It is important for us to emphasize that the Russian aggression in Ukraine must not affect the relationship we have with those doctors or other colleagues who come from Russia and distance themselves from the inhuman and criminal acts of their national leaders. This is a war started by Putin and our Russian colleagues have no part in the decision on war. We strongly support the Russian doctors and scientists who showed great courage by signing the following letters:
