The British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH) is inviting the Scandinavian Society for Surgery of the Hand (SSSH) to be the guest society at their Spring 2024 Scientific Meeting. The Meeting is taking place from Wednesday 24th to Friday 26th April 2024 at the Royal Armories Museum in Leeds, UK.
American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH) has invited SSSH to be an International Guest Hand Society at the 79th ASSH annual meeting to be held in 19-21 September 2024 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. Participating SSSH members will be entitled to reduced entrance fee. More info to follow!
SSSH travel grants
SSSH announces the application of 2 grants of 500 € to be used to support clinics visits in Scandinavia. SSSH can sponsor a member of the society undertaking a visit to another clinic in a member nation. The purpose of the visit can be for clinical practice/auscultation or research projects. The grant can be used for traveling and accommodation and other expenses in connection to the visit. Application with a free description of the purpose and extent of the visit shall be accompanied by a letter of invitation from the recipient department and a letter of approval for leave from the home department. Instructions for application are enclosed at the end of the newsletter Application shall be sent in to the SSSH board, by E-mail to “Martin.clementson@med.lu.se”.
Deadline for application is February 4th, 2024. for visits planned under the coming year. Further instructions for applicants at the end of the newsletter.
A written account of the visit shall be presented to SSSH within three months after the visit for publication on SSSH website. The money will be transferred when SSSH has received the report.
SSSH meeting in Copenhagen 2024
The next Scandinavian meeting will take place in Copenhagen Aug 21-23th 2024 at Herlev hospital. We urge recent Ph.D. graduates to submit an abstract of their thesis and present their work. Abstract submission opens December 1st 2023. We want to encourage young researchers to submit abstracts and the best young researchers will be eligible for selection of travel grants. Please check congress website for further information. Dead-line for abstracts is April 15th 2024 and the early bird registration deadline till May 31st 2024.
